Ann-Carin Wiktorsson

Ann-Carin Wiktorsson lives and works in Göteborg. She was trained at the HDK- School of Design and Crafts in Göteborg, and at the RCA in London.

Since her graduation in 1996 Ann-Carin Wiktorsson is working as a designer with two- as well as three-dimensional forms, mainly products for the laid table. For Höganäs Kermaik/Boda Nova she has contributed with several large and well-known series in the materials stoneware, glass and metal. She has also worked with textiles for homes and public environments, hand tufted wool carpets, storage products for bathrooms etc. Ann-Carin Wiktorsson is commissioned by Höganäs Keramik, Boda Nova, Ljungbergs Textil, Dixie and others. She gives lessons at the HDK in Göteborg and the Swedish School of Textiles in Borås.

For Almedahls Ann-Carin has designed the patterns "Pivot" and "Loda", which originate in direction and movement, but also in the dynamic between the different patterns. The concept “Pivot” consists of a carpet and a curtain, where powerful forms are growing from a centre. "Loda" is built like a windlass of prisms, which are reflected and filtered by the light. Both patterns have useful designs and repeats, which gives an interesting composition when the fabric is divided and used as a panel, says Ann-Carin Wiktorsson. The patterns are designed with a view of creating small and big concepts, where the carpet gives weight and keeps each colour family together. A trio of products that offer a scope of form, colour and combination possibilities.
