Camilla Tillberg was born in 1974, and she lives and works in Stockholm. She was trained at the Swedish State School of Arts, Crafts and Design in Stockholm, and has a master’s degree in textile design.
For Almedahls Camilla has designed “Symboler” (Symbols), a burn-out curtain fabric. “Symboler” was part of Camilla’s examination work at the Swedish State School of Arts, Crafts and Design. The theme of this work was “Inheritance”. New versions of historical textiles resulted in a group of contemporary textiles for home furnishings. White embroideries with a narrative design language full of symbols inspired Camilla to “Symboler”. From the thoughts that the biblical motives have aroused, Camilla has searched for her own contemporary symbols: what is well-known, safe and secure, and what is exotic and unknown, but she has also left open for the observer’s own story.
Since spring 2006 Camilla is a member of the design group Allrum. With textile design as a base Allrum wants to create a new approach to an innovative design for public and privatesettings.
