Felicia Björklund

Felicia Björklund is a designer and artist who lives and works in Göteborg. She was trained at the Swedish School of Textiles in Borås, at the HDK- School of Design and Crafts in Göteborg, and at the Gerlesborg School of Fine Art. In 2009 she won the competition Almedahls Award. Her contribution “Architectonical Light Reflectors” is a sculptural installation, which plays with colour reflections and which illustrates ideas how colours and textiles can work together in a dynamic way in an architectonical room.  “In my designing I am interested in the flat picture in relation to the three-dimensional form. It is a question of creating a tension in the interplay between surface and pattern.”

Felicia has designed the pattern “Tejp”  for Almedahls. The question at issue regarding the work with “Tejp”  was if one could abstract something from the expression in “Architectonical Light Reflectors” and transfer it to a curtain pattern. The first sketches were adhesive tapes fixed at random in all directions on a window pane, where new tones and depths were created in the overlaps. The idea was developed to a rhythmically repeating pattern, which grows in the room and which emphasizes as well as accentuates the transparency of the glass.
