Our Journey

Forward with confidence

Our story begins in 1846, when Hans H. Wesslau from Gothenburg established a textile factory in a valley outside the city. He named it Almedahls, a tribute to his daughter Alma and the valley (dal) where the factory stood.

Today, our head office and development are based in Kinna, Sweden.

1846. Founded as a weaving mill in western Sweden
First 100 years. Established a reputation as skilled producers of woven linen
1950s to 1990s. Expanded into cotton and cotton and linen blends. Developed expertise in dyeing, printing and coating
Today. A group with three business areas. Contract Interiors delivers textile solutions for public spaces. Solar Fabric develops technical sun protection fabrics. Almedahls Home carries our pattern heritage into everyday spaces.
